Print Your Memories
In today’s world we all have access to cameras 24/7. And because of this, we take more pictures a day then we ever have.
In 2014, according to Mary Meeker’s annual Internet Trends report, people uploaded an average of 1.8 billion digital images every single day. That’s 657 billion photos per year. This means that every 2 minutes, humans take more photos than ever existed in total 150 years ago.
I love this fact! With access to cameras now being so prevalent, people are creating memories all the time! Creating memories is why I became a photographer. The only thing I don’t understand however is why no one prints pictures anymore. How many photos do you have on your phone that you don’t even know are there? I go through my phone about once a year to see what I forgot about from the years before.
Some things I have learned from this:
- We get a new phone and sometimes the pictures don’t upload to the new phone.
- We forget about the pictures.
- The pictures of our kids doing that once in a lifetime shot are seen by no one. We do upload them to social media, Facebook, Instagram, and other sites but what about for ourselves and not the entertainment of others.
How do we solve this, print them off. I am not talking about our home printer. Unfortunately, those don’t last as long no matter what the printer maker says. Look at pictures from 100 years ago. Those last, I don’t think what you printed off in your office will last that long.
Go to the store https://photo.walgreens.com/store/home, get an album, turn your cell phone pictures into real pictures. Grab the kids and make an album. Grab your family and make re-live your memories. Holding onto your memories is all you have when it is all said and done. Trust me, it is so worth it.
